Viktor Orbán filmed in Serbia with MOL executive and controversial Hatvanpuszta estate architect

Former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán was spotted at a popular trumpet festival in Serbia, where he was filmed walking through the streets alongside two figures with close links to Hungarian business and the controversial Hatvanpuszta estate.

Former Hungarian prime minister photographed at Guča festival with two prominent associates

Orbán’s appearance at the Guča Trumpet Festival in the Dragačevo region was reported by Serbian news agency RINA, which published footage showing the former prime minister mingling with festival-goers and posing for photographs.

According to RINA, the former prime minister appeared to be in good spirits and was walking without bodyguards while enjoying the festival in the company of friends. However, the identities of the two men walking alongside him have attracted particular attention.

MOL executive and businessman among Orbán’s companions

One of the men accompanying Orbán was identified as Oszkár Világi, a Slovak-Hungarian billionaire and deputy chief executive officer of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL. Világi is the former head of Slovnaft, the Slovak refinery owned by MOL, and is also the majority owner of Slovak football club FK DAC 1904, based in Dunajská Streda.

Investigative journalist Szabolcs Panyi also identified Világi in the footage, noting his longstanding relationship with Orbán. The two have maintained close ties for years, according to Panyi’s account. Világi’s appearance alongside Orbán is notable in part because the two remained connected despite Hungary’s recent political changes, according to the reporting.

Hatvanpuszta architect also seen in the footage

The other man walking with Orbán was identified as architect Dániel Taraczky. Taraczky has been associated with the development of the Orbán family’s Hatvanpuszta estate, a property that has attracted considerable political and public attention in Hungary.

According to official documents cited in the Hungarian reports, Taraczky acted as an architect representing Orbán’s father, Győző Orbán, during heritage-protection proceedings concerning the estate. He has also reportedly won public procurement contracts connected to a number of construction projects financed with public funds.

Disciplinary proceedings over Hatvanpuszta building

Taraczky’s role at Hatvanpuszta has previously drawn criticism from independent MP Ákos Hadházy. Hadházy filed a complaint with the Hungarian Chamber of Architects over the demolition of a protected 19th-century agricultural building at the estate.

In May 2026, the chamber’s ethics and disciplinary committee ruled at first instance that Taraczky had breached legal requirements and professional ethical rules. The committee suspended his chamber membership for one year and imposed a fine of HUF 800,000 (appr. EUR 2,190), as well as ordering him to pay procedural costs. The ruling was a first-instance disciplinary decision, according to the reports.

A relaxed appearance at one of Serbia’s best-known festivals

The footage from Guča presents an informal picture of Orbán, who is shown walking among festival-goers and stopping to take photographs with members of the public. The Guča Trumpet Festival is one of Serbia’s best-known traditional music events, attracting large crowds to the small town in western Serbia each year.

While Orbán’s presence at the festival itself was relatively informal, the appearance of Világi and Taraczky alongside him has drawn attention to the former prime minister’s relationships with prominent business figures and people connected to projects associated with his family.
