Orbán’s party clashes with Booking.com
Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party has demanded that booking.com pay Hungarian hoteliers money owed to them dating back to June.
Recently, numerous accommodation providers have complained about not receiving money owed to them totalling several billion forints, and thousands of small businesses were contending with mounting difficulties, Fidesz MP Kristóf Szatmáry said in a statement, adding that the company was “abusing its size and dominance”. He said Fidesz expected the authorities to investigate and urged the company to pay the Hungarian accommodation providers without delay.

Amazing.
“All & Sundry” – the Hungarian or Orban “line” – appears to be Indebted to Hungary.
Doesn’t Hungary under the Orban regime – have massive growing DEBT ?
It ain’t coming from the European Union, to “ease” the Orban massive black hole of Debt, he and his Government have “spiralled” us into, as a country, that GROWS to Humongous debt level, that, to SERVICE is Doubtful.
The Fidesz reaction is: the pot is calling the pan black.
Think a little exaggerated? Most hotels, if booked via Booking, the payment is made directly? Meanwhile, many smaller establishments, found via Booking encourage direct payment upon arrival vs. full payment up front via Booking? Why would they do the latter, apart from locking in the booking?
