Kőrösi, Petőfi scholarship recipients fulfil noble task among Hungarians abroad

The task taken on by recipients of the Sándor Kőrösi Csoma Programme and Sándor Petőfi Programme scholarships is a noble and serious one constituting service, a government official at the Prime Minister’s Office said on Friday.
Hungarian diaspora and Hungarian communities in the Carpathian Basin
The Kőrösi scholarship programme launched in 2013 is aimed at helping Hungarian diaspora communities, while the Petőfi programme established in 2015 focuses on supporting ethnic Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin, the state secretariat for nation policy said in a statement.
A total of 130 scholarship recipients will be travelling to Hungarian communities around the world from 15 September for a period of nine months, Péter Szilágyi, the deputy state secretary, told the opening conference for the next phase of the two programmes.
