On 15 December, BDPST Group’s newest hotel in Budapest, the five-star Verno House and its restaurant, Flava Kitchen & More, opened in the Szabadság Square neighbourhood.

The BDPST Group announced the acquisition of the neoclassical hotel, located at the corner of Október 6. Street and Szabadság Square in the city centre, last October. Then, it was announced that the property would be reopened with a renewed interior and a completely rethought concept, turizmus.com reports. Verno House started operations on 15 December with a soft opening period (meaning, the opening was lightly announced and not a grand opening).
After the opening of the hotel, the first guests will not only be able to experience the comfort and wellness services, but also to try the international comfort food dishes of the Flava Kitchen & More restaurant. The menu will include North African, North American and Middle Eastern inspired dishes, the group informed the editorial team of turizmus.com.

The acquisition was announced in October last year
“The hotel will not only be renovated in terms of interior design, but will also be revitalised with a youthful, urban concept that will bring a fresh approach to the premium accommodation available in the centre of Budapest. As part of the new concept, in addition to operating the 50-room hotel, we are also planning to open a new restaurant in the hotel,” Zoltán Somlyai, head of the BDPST Group’s hotel division, told turizmus.com last October.
He added that the renewed hotel will continue to cater to a clientele that prefers higher quality hotels, but avoids the classic large-roomed houses, which value the hotel’s central location and the need for a new kind of personalised service.
A 5-star hotel in a beautiful environment
Decorated with greenery, the hotel will offer 50 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and, in the warmer months, a terrace with the atmosphere of a real downtown oasis. The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the capital’s sights, while the adjacent park offers guests a peaceful setting. The Verno House is the perfect place to stay for those who want to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city centre and for those who want to relax after sightseeing, the hotel said in a statement.
After a soft opening period, the official opening of the hotel and restaurant is planned for early 2023.
