Photos, video: two trams collided in Budapest, several injured
On Monday evening, two trams collided in Budapest at Boráros tér.
The National Ambulance Service told MTI that six people were injured in the accident: one seriously, and five slightly.
The emergency services told MTI that two trams had been involved in a hit-and-run accident near Boráros tér, on the Pest-Buda side. The collision caused both trams to run off the rails. The Budapest fire brigade and ambulance were also called to the accident. The disaster management operation service was in charge of the protracted technical rescue.
Tram No. 4 was not running between Corvin Quarter and Újbuda Centre and Tram No. 6 was not running between Corvin Quarter and Móricz Zsigmond Boulevard. At 5am this morning, BKK announced on its Facebook page that trams 4 and 6 were back on the full route.
