Reader’s letter: Ryanair keeps passengers on plane for hours with no food or water on Budapest-Bologna flight
We received a letter describing a disturbing incident that happened on a Budapest-Bologna Ryanair flight right before Christmas, on 23 December. Our reader, Filippo, wishes to get the compensation he is entitled to. We are publishing his letter without changes.
“On December 23, 2023 we’ve been literally kidnapped on a Ryanair flight for eight hours with no food or water.
Due to we still don’t know what, since the flight attendant were not able to answer us, we waited eight hours inside the cold aircraft on our way to Bologna.
No assistance, no masks for covid-19 given, no water, no food, cold aircraft for 8 hours straight, inhuman conditions. We entered the aircraft at around 16:30 and departed at 00:15.We were supposed to land at 17:15 and we landed at 1:30AM in Bologna.
A lot of the EU rules were broken and now Ryanair does not want to reimburse us. On that day, like us there were 7 other Ryanair aircrafts in the same situation. And this is all about this company, since all the other aircraft from different companies (like Wizz Air e.g.) canceled the flight and the passengers were given a hotel room or other accommodation. The flight number was FR3827.”
