Ruling party lawmakers to discuss migration, family policy at joint parlt group meeting

Budapest (MTI) – Migration, the referendum on EU migrant quotas and family support policies will be the key topics addressed at a three-day meeting of lawmakers of the governing parties, the group leader of Fidesz said before the meeting starts on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting to take place in Balatonfüred, western Hungary, will open with an address by Prime Minister and Fidesz leader Viktor Orbán, outlining tasks for the parliamentary cycle ending in the spring of 2018, Lajos Kósa told reporters.

A discussion about migration and the quota referendum will follow on Thursday with remarks by the foreign, defence and interior ministers, as well as by cabinet chief Antal Rogán and Fidesz MEP Jozsef Szájer, he said. Still on Thursday family support policies will be discussed with addresses by the ministers in charge of the economy, agriculture and human resources, as well as by state secretaries.

On Friday, Fidesz’s steering board and the party’s cabinets for separate policy areas are scheduled to meet, Kósa said.
