Socialists vow to reintroduce early retirement
The opposition Socialist Party will reintroduce a system of early retirement if it regains power, the deputy head of parliament’s welfare committee, a Socialist lawmaker, said on Tuesday.
The government scrapped early retirement in 2012, Lajos Korozs noted. The Socialists plan to bring back early retirement as a system not limited to only certain areas of work, he added.
Korozs has also submitted a question to Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog concerning preparations for reorganising the pension administration system. Korozs expressed concern over the merging of the agency that forwards pensions with the state treasury, and warned that 2.7 million pensioners scheduled to receive November payments may have to wait.
