A special floating fountain was handed over in Győr

Small films can be projected at the new fountain in Győr. The first topic will be the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF). The operation of this unique creation does not disturb the tranquility of the area.

“We enriched Győr with another spectacular attraction. A special floating fountain at the junction of the Rába and the Moson Danube”, announced mayor Zsolt Borkai and deputy mayors Dávid Fekete and Ákos Radnóti at a joint press conference.

Pictures and films can be projected on the about three hundred square meters fiabellate water curtain. It will be visible in the evening at quarter past nine and quarter to ten until the middle of August. Later, there will be showings at quarter past seven, quarter past eight and quarter to ten in the evening.

Over the next few weeks, image films related to EYOF and the European Capital of Culture will be shown. Later, the repertoire changes to actualities. The fountain will not work after 10 o’clock in the evening so that it won’t disturb the tranquility of the area. The dates of the music fountain program in front of the County Hall are in accordance with the multimedia fountain program. This way, those interested can visit one after the other. The implementation was coordinated by Győr-Szol Zrt. The utility is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the floating fountain.

Fountain Renovation Program

Establishing a multimedia fountain is part of the large-scale fountain-renovation program that started in the last year in Győr. Then, the fountain at the County Hall was completely renewed in its appearance as well as concerning its technical devices. Also, in 2016, they embellished the pool and the surroundings of the Heroes’ Monument on the Radó Island. They also reconstructed the Venus statue. The engineering of the bickerer water in the Kuopio Park was also renewed earlier. It did not operate for many years. They have reconstructed its surroundings as well. As part of the program, the “Faun and Nymphs” fountain on the Bisinger promenade has been completed recently, as well as the reconstruction of the bickerer in front of the Rába Hotel called “Hugging Shapes”. The latter two did not operate for more than 20 years.
