The products that protect against COVID-19 are marketed in 40 countries. Now, according to a court decision, they can be sold and purchased in Hungary again.

“In its judgment of 1 February, the Metropolitan Court annulled the decision of the National Institute of Pharmacy and Food Health (OGYÉI) ordering the withdrawal of Virostop nasal and oral spray.” – storeinsider.hu writes. According to the manufacturer,  „the patented mix of active natural ingredients in Virostop mechanically protects against the penetration of these invisible enemies into your organism, this way also alleviates symptoms of Covid-19 disease.”

Now the Virostop products can be sold in Hungary again. A former international clinical testing came to the conclusion that the product can prevent coronavirus infection. In the tested people, the virus could not be indicated with a PCR test, either.

The products that protect against COVID-19 can be found in pharmacies and online stores. In 2021, the National Institute of Pharmacy and Food Health (OGYÉI) banned the products from being sold. The mouth spray was registered as a medical tool in 2014 and the nasal spray in 2016. The reason behind banning the products was that the company, Fytofontana Kft. did not conform to the regulations. As storeinsider.hu writes, the company eventually filed a lawsuit and on the 1st of February, the court decided in the company’s favour.

In 2021, the court stated that the National Institute of Pharmacy and Food Health’s decision did not comply with legal requirements.

According to the company’s website, the Virostop clinical study confirmed a significant reduction in the severity of respiratory clinical symptoms and a 60% viral shedding in the case of COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2. The information they published also says that the products „can be safely used by children from three years of age.” The website also quotes Ondrej Michlo, The Executive Director of Herb-Pharma Corporation. He said that more than 2 million products have been sold in Europe. The in-vitro study conducted also proved the Virostop products’ effectiveness against influenza A and influenza B.
