State Lottery Company Tests Scratch-Off Sales in Pubs
Budapest, October 6 (MTI) – Hungary’s state lottery company, Szerencsejatek, is testing scratch-off game vending machines in pubs, two years after slot machines were banned from such establishments, business daily Vilaggazdasag said on Monday.
Szerencsejatek is testing ten of the vending machines in Budapest and other places around the country, the paper said.
Magyar Loversenyfogadast Szervezo, a state-owned company which organises betting on horse races, is also expanding in the same direction. Managing director Gabor Haal told the paper that the company had put terminals in a number of pubs and was selling 40,000 tickets a week, double the number in the same period a year earlier.
