State of Hungary’s environment improving, says farm ministry official
Budapest (MTI) – The state of Hungary’s environment has improved over the past five years, a state secretary for the farm ministry said on Monday.
A primary goal of Hungary’s environmental policy is to achieve economic growth while ensuring the preservation and sustainable use of natural resources, Zsolt V. Nemeth said at a conference on the European Environment Agency’s (EEA) assessment of the state and outlook of the European environment for 2015. Nemeth said Hungary’s environmental policy also aims to guarantee everyone the right to a healthy environment, as stated in the constitution.
Peder Jensen, head of the EEA Partnerships and Network programme, said “we need to discover the limits of our planet, which we may not overstep, not even while searching for a better life”.
