Success – Budapest restaurant among the bests in the world again
Deák St. Kitchen, the restaurant of Ritz-Carlton Budapest was among the 2018 World Luxury Restaurant Awards Global Winners, azuzlet.hu reports. The award ceremony was held on 14 July at Galgrom Resort & Spa, Ireland.
Deák St. Kitchen is officially among the best restaurants in the world, as it won the Hungarian Cuisine category of the World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2018.
This is not the first time that Deák St. Kitchen wins the award; in fact, this is the second consecutive year that the Budapest restaurant is a global winner at the prestigious competition.
2018 seems to be a quite successful year for Hungarian restaurants. Just recently, Avalon Ristorante from Miskolctapolca was announced to be the best Italian restaurant in Central Europe, winning two categories of the same World Luxury Restaurants Awards.
About the competition
The World Luxury Restaurant Awards aim to ignite a healthy competition within the Luxury Restaurant Industry. Restaurants compete in their chosen category, from a list of 84 categories. Experts look at many aspects of the restaurants, such as the culinary experience, the brand, location, guest experience and satisfaction, services, equipment, design, and of course the menu. According to their website:
“The World Luxury Restaurant Awards aims to highlight special features of restaurants, thereby increasing competition globally and ultimately raising the level of food quality and the standards of service in the luxury restaurant industry.”
About the restaurant
Deák St. Kitchen is located at 9-10 Erzsébet square, and it belongs to the premium hotel Ritz-Carlton Budapest. The restaurant was opened in 2016.
The cuisine is absolutely Hungarian-inspired, the menu is characterised by Hungarian national classics, such as the goulash, but the courses always come with a little twist and with seasonal ingredients.
“The chefs create dishes that touch on tradition, including spaetzle and goulash. The restaurant, a downtown dining destination, also offers one of Budapest’s best selections of Hungarian wines and beers and features a terrace overlooking Fashion Street.”
The dining experience is complete with a wide selection of world-famous and most often award-winning Hungarian wines. The restaurant’s atmosphere is embellished by wooden floors, smooth leather seating and warm lighting.
