Success! Hungarian university moves up two places in new ranking

The new university ranking of the UNIside.hu higher education website has been published, providing important and specific info for those about to decide on their further education.
According to the latest UNI In&Out ranking, Budapest University of Technology and Economics has moved up two places in the overall ranking of Hungarian higher education institutions compared to last year: in 2024, BME is ranked the second best university in Hungary (fourth in 2023). BME’s faculties also finished at the top in the fields of IT, engineering and natural sciences, and the six engineering faculties are among the top seven.
It is encouraging news that BME is again first in international research productivity and the ratio of participants in part-time studies abroad (compared to the average of the given field). The average gross earnings of BME graduates are the highest according to the 2019 Graduate Career Tracking System (GCTS), bme.hu wrote.
BME in the first place
The ranking, published for the second time this year, covers all higher education institutions (except those that do not offer bachelor or single-cycle programmes, or those that only offer courses in the fields of religion, arts and arts education). The aim of the compilation is to give a complete picture of a particular field of study, of Hungarian higher education, taking into account international aspects.
In the field of engineering, BME’s Faculty of Architecture (ÉPK) retained its first place,
BME’s Faculty of Civil Engineering (ÉMK) came second (up three places), BME’s Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology (VBK) third, BME’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (GPK) fourth (up one place), BME’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (VIK) fifth (up six places) and BME’s Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering (KJK) seventh.
The most popular programmes in the field: Mechanical Engineering (BME GPK retained first place), Civil Engineering (BME-ÉPK retained first place), Electrical Engineering (BME-VIK retained first place) and Vehicle Engineering (BME-KJK ranked first nationally).
Faculties among the best
BME-VIK continues to be the first in the IT field, and the most popular programmes in this field are: computer engineer (BME-VIK ranked first nationally) and business informatics.
BME-TTK continues to be the first in natural sciences, and the most popular programmes in this field are: Mathematics (BME TTK ranked 2nd nationally) and Physics (BME TTK retained its first place).
