Summer arrives in Hungary with temperatures reaching 30°C in some regions

Following a rainy Tuesday, the weather has turned markedly summery and is expected to remain so over the coming days.
Today marks the first summer day in Hungary
According to the weather forecast of Időkép, the country can expect ample sunshine today, despite the presence of occasional cloud cover. Precipitation is not anticipated. Winds will be brisk only in north-western areas. Afternoon temperatures are forecast to range between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius. Időkép reported that the temperature in Fülöpháza Hattyús-szék had already reached 25°C by 11:30am, confirming today as Hungary’s first official summer’s day of 2025.

Thursday will bring further sunshine, with showers expected only in the morning and again during the late afternoon. Conditions will be moderately breezy, but remain warm throughout. Following a mild night, daytime highs are set to range from 24 to 30°C. The eastern region of Tiszántúl is expected to be the warmest.

Warm weather to persist in Hungary
A Mediterranean cyclone is forecast to move into Hungary on Friday, bringing rainfall predominantly to eastern parts of the country. Showers are expected to be infrequent in the afternoon, though southerly winds will strengthen. Maximum temperatures will fall slightly, ranging between 17 and 23 degrees Celsius.

The weekend will continue to be breezy, with sunny spells and occasional light showers. Saturday’s highs will lie between 18 and 23 degrees, while Sunday may see temperatures rising slightly to between 20 and 25°C.
Meteor shower to illuminate Hungarian skies
According to Időkép, the annual Lyrids meteor shower will be visible over Hungary from 17 to 26 April, with its peak expected during this period.
