Summer is over, Hungary has issued a warning!
A cold front is moving across Hungary, causing showers and thunderstorms across the country.
According to the National Metrological Service, thunderstorms will first occur in the eastern half of Hungary today. Up to 35-50 mm of precipitation may fall in a short time. In some areas, even precipitation of more than 80 mm is possible. This could lead to localised flash floods.
Therefore, the National Meteorological Service has issued a first-level warning for the whole country due to the risk of thunderstorms, and a second-level warning is in force in several eastern counties due to cloudbursts, 24.hu reports.
In addition to rain, strong gusty wind gusts are possible.
