The SZEF, which represents about 690,000 employees in the public sector, said it was “disappointed” that representatives of private sector unions had signed the 3.4 percent hike in the minimum wage for 2015. The rise does not represent any levelling in wage differences, SZEF said in a statement on Tuesday.
Government, employers and unions signed an agreement on next year’s wages on Monday. The minimum wage was set at 105,000 forints (EUR 334) per month as of Jan. 1 next year or 122,000 forints for skilled workers. The recommended wage hike in the private sector was agreed at 3-4 percent.
