Prague (MTI) – Europe is facing not a refugee crisis but a mass migration, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said at the Prague European Summit conference on Thursday.
“The urge for political correctness and hypocrisy have prevented us from admitting that we are not dealing with a refugee crisis but mass migration,” the minister said.
Szijjarto said there were some 45 million people in the Middle East and north Africa who could soon start making their way to Europe due to the political situation and conflicts in their home countries. The minister said European politicians should refrain from making comments that could be interpreted as invitations by people in those regions.
Day one of the Prague European Summit focused on the possibility of increasing the influence central European countries have on reforms to European institutions. Szijjarto said “there is no strong EU without a strong V4 [Group]”. The summit concludes on Friday.
