American sex symbol singer arrived in Hungary

The British sex symbol of the 1980s, Samantha Fox, arrived in Hungary yesterday. She performed her last concert of 2023 in Eger, East Hungary, world-famous for its wines, especially Egri Bikavér. We hope that Sammy had a chance to taste it.

According to Blikk, a Hungarian tabloid, Samantha Fox told her Instagram followers in a post that she would perform in Eger at ‘Event Eger Christmas advent’ show. She brought not only hits but much more. Although it seems she did not spend too much time in Budapest, she used the #lovelybudapest hashtag. Here is her post and the photo she shared with it:

Based on the photos shared by the mayor of Eger, Ádám Mirkóczki, she arrived in time to Dobó Square to perform a great show for the audience coming from the city and its neighbourhood. Here are the photos Mr Mirkóczky shared:

Eger is famous for its rich cultural heritage and wines. The fortress of Eger is well-known to every Hungarian for its siege by the Ottoman forces in 1552. The Ottomans were unsuccessful because the witty and brave Hungarian defenders resisted their pressure for several weeks of deadly fighting. Géza Gárdonyi, one of the greatest Hungarian story-tellers, wrote his famous ‘Eclipse of the Crescent Moon’ (Egri csillagok – The stars from Eger) about those events commemorating the Hungarian heroes of that time. That is now a compulsory reading in every Hungarian school.

We wrote about the cultural heritage and the wines in detail in THIS article.

Government think-tank head in Fox News: Hungary brave enough to stand up against woke insanity

Hungary brave enough to stand up against woke insanity

The Hungarian recipe is that “you should be brave enough to stand up against woke insanity,” Miklós Szánthó, the director of conservative think-tank Center for Fundamental Rights said in an interview with Fox News Radio.

In the interview, parts of which were posted on the radio’s website on Thursday, Szánthó discussed Hungarian conservativism, Hungary’s migration policy and border protection measures and European Union policies.

“What makes Hungary, Hungary’s conservative revolution so special is that Hungary still sticks to common sense, to the three values of God, homeland and family,” he said. “We are part of the West, except that we’ve remained normal,” said Szánthó. “We are trying to defend our Judeo-Christian heritage…, we also stand up for national identity and state sovereignty…, and of course we are trying to defend the children and the family against this gender nonsense.”

He said Hungary’s most important issue was its fight against the “deep state” of Brussels to protect its sovereignty. “You have your deep state in Washington, DC, and in the federal government, we do have our deep state in Brussels, in the European Union.”

Brussels destroying member states’ sovereignty

Szánthó said that the “Brusselites” had departed from the original concept of the EU’s founding fathers and were seeking to create a political union by withdrawing more and more powers from member states and “destroying their sovereignty”. Despite those efforts Szánthó said Hungary was not keen on stepping out of the EU, adding that “we want to conquer Brussels”.

Asked about Hungary’s border protection, Szánthó said that related measures served to protect the country against illegal migration and “the rising tide of anti-Semitism”. He said the western elite had a more liberal approach towards migration because it wanted to see states with a mixed ethnic composition ranging “from Portugal to Lithuania” in hope of getting the votes of immigrants later on.

“You should be brave enough to stand up against this woke insanity. You should be brave and you should not remain silent. Because that is exactly what this progressive ideology and progressive totalitarian behaviour tries to reach… Hungary tries to serve as an engine of conservative cooperation.” Szánthó said the Hungarian right wanted to be an engine to get common sense back to its due place in politics.

Orbán’s closest political advisor will help Trump win the presidency?

Donald Trump Viktor Orbán

Árpád Habony and Csaba Faragó, the foreign affairs director of Századvég have been operating Századvég in several countries, such as Serbia, Slovakia, Poland, and the United States. Political powers sympathetic to Viktor Orbán have increasingly relied on advice from Habony and his team in recent European elections. Where could you have heard of these advisors being involved before and what country seems to be the next on their list?

Slovakia and Fico

The organisation appeared in the Slovakian elections too. Habony first appeared last year around Peter Pellegrini’s party, Hlas. Hlas is the social democratic party and Peter Pellegrini is the speaker of the house. The intermediary was Matús Sutaj Estok, who has since become the Minister of Interior in Slovakia. However, with the growth of Fico’s party, Smer, the number of Fidesz associates also increased. Allegedly Századvég helped with the popularity ratig of Smer, writes Telex. This was done by conducting public surveys on which political messages work best.
According to sources “Hungarian collaboration with Smer remained strong even after Fico’s election victory.” You can read more about Slovak and Hungarian ties HERE.

Serbia

There are also mentions by 444, that Századvég actively participated in the Serbian elections. Mostly by Faragó helping the Vojvodina Hungarians’ Alliance, which is affiliated with Vučić’s party, in achieving good results.

The lost case of Poland

Although Habony’s team also worked on the Polish elections, the outcome was less favorable.
Not everywhere did Habony’s advice prove beneficial. After their advised party, the Law and Justice Party lost several politicians from the party blamed Habony Árpád and the consultants from Századvég for their loss of power. According to the international investigative organization, during the election period, they suggested to the party to choose aggressive and divisive political messages and to conduct a negative campaign against their opponent, Donald Tusk. Tusk, who is pro-Europe, won in the end and became the Prime Minister of Poland. We already wrote about it HERE.

Next on the list is Uncle Sam?

The ocean is not an obstacle, when talking about Habony and his influence. There has been talk of Habony being employed by none other than Donald Trump in his upcoming campaign for reelection. Former U.S. ambassador to Budapest, David Cornstein actively lobbies for Donald Trump to employ Habony, who is working on this project with Századvég fervently, especially Gergely Losonci, political director of the organisation. Habony has recently visited Florida multiple times and met with Trump’s people, so it seems like their collaboration is nearing the inevitable.

Hungarian FM blasts ‘silence’ on Trump’s disqualification from Colorado ballot

péter szijjártó in new york united nations

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has slammed “the silence” surrounding the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify former US President Donald Trump from the Republican primary ballot.

“Let’s take a moment to consider what would happen if something similar happened in a central European country led by a patriotic government…” Szijjártó said on Facebook.

“How many minutes would it take for the European Parliament to declare the death of democracy?” the minister said. “How long would it be before the US State Department put out a statement condemning the ruling? How many minutes would pass before the European Commission froze the blocked EU funds even more, and how many minutes would it take for articles on all platforms of the global liberal media network to declare the destruction of the rule of law?”

“And what do we have now? Silence. But not because of Advent,” he added.

Famous Hungarian singer’s son sent to prison in the USA after Secret Service investigation

Famous Hungarian singer's son sent to prison in the USA after Secret Service investigation

It spreads like a wildfire in the Hungarian media that the son of János Bródy, one of the most famous Hungarian singers, has been sentenced to prison in the United States. The 38-year-old Dániel Miklós Bródy has to pay almost USD 530,000 as compensation.

According to index.hu, the reason for the harsh sentence was that Mr Bródy intentionally damaged the computer network and stole the valuable computer code of his former employee. His motive was retaliation. Furthermore, he made false statements to a government agency. The son of the Kossuth and Liszt Ferenc-award winner Hungarian musician legend, lives in San Francisco and worked for the First Republic Bank. The institution closed this May because the JPMorgan Chase bought it.

Based on a statement from the United States Attorney’s Office, Mr Bródy worked there as a cloud engineer, but was fired in March 2020, shortly before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. The reason for his dismissal was that he violated company policy. He pleaded guilty in April 2023 to two charges.

Prison and money

According to the statement of the United States Attorney’s Office, “he used his company-issued laptop — which he failed to return upon being fired — to access the bank’s computer network without authorisation and to cause substantial damage. Among other things, Bródy deleted the bank’s code repositories, ran a malicious script to delete logs, left taunts within the bank’s code for former colleagues, and impersonated other bank employees by opening sessions in their names. He also emailed himself a proprietary bank code that he had worked on as an employee, which was valued at over $5,000. At the sentencing hearing, Judge Orrick determined the total cost of the damage to the bank’s systems to be at least $220,621.22”, the statement goes.

Therefore, Judge Orrick “ordered him to pay restitution totalling $529,266.37 and to serve three years of supervised release to begin after his prison term is completed.” Interestingly, the US Secret Service conducted the investigation.

Dániel Miklós Bródy has been living in the United States since 2014.

Arnold Schwarzenegger comes to Budapest!

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Due to the actors’ strike in Hollywood, several shootings were postponed for months or even years in some unfortunate cases. Thankfully, the latest production of Arnold Schwarzenegger suffered only minor delay. Therefore, the former bodybuilder champion and Californian governor, the Austrian Oak and the ‘forever Terminator’ will come again to Hungary soon.

Blikk leans on Anikó Návai’s recent Instagram post when dishing out the details on Schwarzenegger’s upcoming visit to Hungary. According to Blikk, Ms Návai boasts a hotline to the inner circles of the American movie capital. We spilled the tea on Ms Návai in THIS article when she was expelled from Golden Globe due to a fake interview with Scarlett Johansson in 2021. We covered the full story HERE.

Nevertheless, the popular Hungarian tabloid still hangs onto Ms. Návai’s every word. Ms Návai recently took to Instagram to share: ‘Yes, Schwarzenegger WILL BE BACK in Budapest’. She also added that the shooting location of the newest Schwarzenegger flick will be revealed soon, so fans can get ready for a ‘meet & greet’ with the Hollywood icon, where he will give a glimpse of his #1 New York Times #bestseller, “Be Useful Seven Tools For Life”. Schwarzenegger loves Hungary and Budapest

Schwarzenegger will shoot his new movie Breakout in Budapest, proving once and for all that age is just a number for Arnie. The 76-year-old legend will play the main protagonist in the action flick, who goes on a quest to rescue his 25-year-old son, unjustly imprisoned for drug smuggling, all while discovering the unvarnished truth.

The producer, Sebastien Raybaud, said the movie was tailor-made for Schwarzenegger, a maestro at delivering top-notch entertainment. The plot twist? Budapest snagged the gig because Arnie couldn’t stop praising the Hungarian capital for its cool vibes.

In a previous article HERE, we spilled the beans about Schwarzenegger’s secret visit to Hungary in 2021, a meet-up with his Hungarian pal, Ádám Szedlacskó, owner of Flex Gym since 2010. Szedlacskó, not only met his childhood hero but also forged a bromance. “I love him as a mate but also look up to him as father figure, whom I greatly respect. Forget the bodybuilding legend, action hero, or ex-governor – I see Arnold, the man,” shared Mr. Szedlacskó to index.hu.

And, as if this Hollywood rollercoaster wasn’t enough, HERE is some more gossip: Andy Vajna’s Hungarian widow, Tímea Vajna (41), allegedly snared Arnie’s affections, becoming the new leading lady in his life. Oh, the drama!

Trump, Hungary ambassador address NY Young Republican Club gala

CPAC USA Hungary Trump

Former US President Donald Trump and Hungarian Ambassador Szabolcs Takács were among the guests addressing an annual gala dinner hosted jointly by a US and a Hungarian organisation in Manhattan on Saturday evening.

Addressing the event which was co-hosted by the New York Young Republican Club and Hungary’s Center for Fundamental Rights, Trump said next year’s ballot in the US would be more important than ever. The United States he said was facing a migration crisis much graver than in 2016. He accused the Biden administration of using government institutions “as a weapon” against its political opponents.

Takacs said under Trump’s administration Washington had regarded Hungary a valued partner, a friend which Hungary would never forget. He praised joint achievements noting the conclusion of a bilateral defence cooperation. Commenting on international affairs, “Hungary will not yield to the globalists’ pressure” and will seek ties with political leaders who respect their homeland, national sovereignty and the cause of the family, and who will stand up for their communities and ideals, Takacs said.

The gala was attended by around 1,000 guests including several members of the US Congress, conservative personalities as well as MEPs including Hungary’s ruling Fidesz and Austria’s Freedom Party.

American book analysing Hungarian politics presented in New York

American book analysing Hungarian politics presented in New York

A book analysing Hungarian politics by Shea Bradley-Farrell, the head of the Counterpoint Institute, was presented in New York on Thursday.

Last Warning to the West is the result of the author’s months-long research in Hungary as a leading researcher of the Centre for Fundamental Rights (Alapjogokért Központ). At the event, the author recommended the Hungarian government’s policies as an antidote to progressive aspirations. She said leftist ideology in the US threatened to undermine people’s freedom. Hungarian history set an example of standing up against conquering forces, she said. Alapjogokért’s head, Miklós Szánthó, said Hungary had been resisting foreign powers wanting to assimilate the country since the times of its first king, St Stephen.

While Hungary had always been a conflict zone during clashes between powers, it could become a meeting point of East and West in times of peace, he said. “That is why we reject the logic of the new Cold War and woke brainwashing…” he said.

State secretary: US ambassador has no respect for Hungarians

US Ambassador David Pressman sanctions

US Ambassador to Hungary David Pressman “behaves as if Hungary were the 51st state of the United Sates and he were its governor,” Tamás Menczer, the foreign affairs state secretary, told public television on Monday.

Referring to recent remarks by the ambassador made at the opening ceremony of the 12th Budapest Jewish and Israeli Film Festival, alluding to anti-Semitism on the subject of posters depicting Alex Soros, Menczer said: “We are a country with a statehood somewhat older than that of America … and even in the most primitive political disputes, they don’t argue that the Hungarian government would slam George Soros and his son because of their Jewishness.

“We usually refer to [Soros and his son] as talented Hungarians, but the problem is that they use their talent for bad purposes: they support migration and war,” Menczer said. “We support peace and we say ‘no’ to migration … that decision by Hungarian voters must be respected and it is a problem that the US ambassador doesn’t,” he said.

Menczer referred to the appreciation of international Jewish organisations, the prime minister of Israel and the Israeli ambassador to Hungary, suggesting that “Hungary is one of the best places in the world” in terms of security for people with a Jewish identity.

He added that anti-Semitism, on the other hand, “has never been such a great problem in the US as now”, with Jewish people only representing 2 percent of the population but suffering some 55 percent of hate crime cases. Fully 88 percent of Jews viewed anti-Semitism as a problem in the US, he added.

US ambassador cried anti-Semitism due to the Soros billboards in Hungary

Hungary has zero tolerance of anti-semitism also as it applies to terrorism-supporting demonstrations, the state secretary for international communications said on the X social media platform on Thursday.

Zoltán Kovács responded to a recent post by US Ambassador David Pressman, and said it was not simply that “Jews are not assaulted on the streets” of Hungary. “Jewish life is enjoying a renaissance in Hungary,” Kovacs said.

“The harder you try, the more unsavoury it becomes, Mr. Ambassador. The time when anyone took your allegations of anti-semitism seriously is over,” he added.

Kovács asked Pressman if he had seen what is happening in his own country, on university campuses, for example. “No one can treat seriously your trying to teach us lessons,” he added.

US Ambassador David Pressman said at the ZsiFi Budapest Jewish and Israeli Film Festival that the Hungarian government would post billboards depicting a grinning, Jewish billionaire domineering over Hungary warning, “let’s not let Soros have the last laugh.” “Or posters of the same Jewish billionaire controlling politicians with puppet strings. Or, most recently, that same Jewish billionaire’s son shadowing the President of the European Commission. We don’t need to pin a yellow star on to these posters to understand the context in which they are published and the meaning behind the imagery. It doesn’t take a film critic to understand one of the stories these posters — in this country and in this context — are conveying.

Anti-semitism is not defined by the physical safety of Jews.  That is a grotesquely low bar, the most basic responsibility of any government, for all of its people.  But the fact is that anywhere anti-Semitism is allowed, or sometimes even encouraged, Jews are not secure.  Some may conflate physical safety with security, but they are different. ” Read his full speech HERE.

Hungarian FM regrets ‘nadir’ of EU’s competitiveness before meeting EU counterparts

Hungarian minister Péter Szijjártó

“Ill-advised decisions in Brussels in recent years have led to a nadir in Europe’s competitiveness,” Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Monday, ahead of a meeting of the EU’s foreign affairs council.

Europe has been relegated to third place in terms of its contribution to the global economy, “and with the worst figures of recent decades,” he said on Facebook. Meanwhile, he added, “natural gas in Europe costs four times as much as in North America, and electricity three times as in China”.

“The ties of East-West cooperation, which have served a solid basis for European growth for a long time, are now being severed one by one,” he said. “We are debating the 12th package of sanctions, while no honest assessment of the impacts of the previous eleven have never been compiled,” he added.

The Hungarian government “seeks an improvement in Europe’s competitiveness and greatly contributes, having won a number of investment projects this year, which otherwise would have gone to third countries,” he said, adding that East-West cooperation should be considered “a great opportunity rather than a peril”.

As we wrote last week, the European Commission has approved the government’s amendment to the Recovery and Resilience Instrument, submitted in August, giving Hungary access to around EUR 1 billion in EU funding for the development of the RePowerEU chapter, details HERE.

From Bucharest to New York, the 120th anniversary of János Neumann is being celebrated

Neumann conference commemoration

On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of John von Neumann, the namesake and inventor of the operating principle of today’s computers, the John von Neumann Computer Society is participating in prestigious events organized in the United States, the Netherlands, Serbia, and Romania.

Budapest, November 24, 2023. In addition to numerous domestic programs in the #neumann120 memorial year in 2023, significant events are being celebrated beyond the borders at the end of November in honor of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the world-renowned mathematician John von Neumann.

Celebratory conference and gala in New York

As part of the American series of events, a reception was held at the Hungarian Consulate in New York on November 8, where, in recognition of decades of work and, in particular, for preserving Neumann’s scientific legacy, Professor Péter Dávid Lax, an Abel Prize laureate who had previously worked under Neumann’s direction in the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos, was awarded the Commander’s Cross with Star of the Hungarian Order of Merit by the decision of the President of the Republic. This year, due to his age, the 97-year-old Péter Lax was represented by his son, James D. Lax, who received the award on his behalf.

The following day, a full-day interdisciplinary conference based on John von Neumann’s scientific achievements took place at New York University. The panel discussions and presentations covered questions related to the future development of artificial intelligence, the possibilities of artificial intelligence in medicine, the physical sciences, economics, and social sciences. A gala dinner was held at the prestigious National Museum of Mathematics after the conference, where Ananyo Bhattacharya, the author of the book ’The Man from the Future: The Visionary Ideas of John von Neumann’ which was also published in Hungarian this year, delivered a keynote address. The event was addressed by Tamás Novák, scientific and technological attaché, John Overdeck, founder of the National Museum of Mathematics, and David Nirenberg, the newly appointed director of the Institute of Advanced Study.

For the participants from Hungary, Tamás Novák, the scientific and technological attaché, organized a visit to Princeton on November 10, during which the participants visited the graves of John von Neumann and physicist Eugene Wigner.

Neumann Memorial Conference in Subotica (Szabadka), Serbia

On the occasion of the Hungarian Science Festival on November 6, the Vojvodina Hungarian Academy Council organized a Neumann Memorial Conference in Subotica for the #neumann120 memorial year. During the full-day program organized at the Hungarian-language Teacher Training College, participants heard lectures on John von Neumann’s life and scientific achievements in the fields of computer science, game theory, economic-mathematical applications, and artificial intelligence. Representing the Neumann Society, Gábor Képes presented the stages of the polymath Neumann’s career.

The event was realized with the joint support of the Vojvodina Hungarian Academy Council, the Hungarian Teacher Training College of the University of Novi Sad, Óbuda University, and the Hungarian Fuzzy Society, operating as a section of the Neumann Society.

Neumann Symposium in the Netherlands

On November 27, the Embassy of Hungary in the Netherlands is organizing a Neumann Symposium in Delft: András Kocsis, the Hungarian ambassador in The Hague, will deliver a welcome address, and Ananyo Bhattacharya, who wrote the biography of the genius, will give the opening lecture on the life of John von Neumann.

Eric van Damme, professor of economics at Tilburg University, will speak on game theory, Gábor Elek, mathematician and scientific advisor of the MTA Rényi Alfréd Mathematical Research Institute, will deliver a lecture titled “The Neumann Dimension,” and Professor Georgi Gaydadjiev, computer architecture professor at Tilburg University, will summarize the history of post-Neumann era computing.

In Bucharest, Neumann, the polymath, will be presented

On November 28, John von Neumann will be presented as the polymath by János Varga, a Neumann researcher, at the Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center in Bucharest. On the occasion of the anniversary, the institute will hold a scientific and educational presentation, which is partly addressed to the professional audience and partly to the students and teachers of the Ady Endre Theoretical High School in Bucharest.

For students, learning about John von Neumann’s outstanding contributions to the logical design of electronic computers can be fascinating. The close relationship of today’s younger generations with computers can provide a good foundation for understanding where it all started. The event will also showcase the digital display created by the Neumann Society and HUN-REN SZTAKI about Neumann’s life.

The Neumann Society, celebrating its 55th anniversary this year, has dedicated the entire year of 2023 to the Neumann 120 jubilee year. The neumann120.hu celebration site presents videos, photos, publications, and other interesting materials related to John von Neumann’s life and career, alongside domestic and foreign events.

This Hungarian woman trains to be a U.S. Navy Warfighter

US Navy Warfighter Hungarian woman

Sailors are some of the most highly-trained people on the planet, according to Navy officials, and this training requires highly-dedicated instructors. At Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Meridian, instructors teach sailors to be combat-ready warfighters, while providing the tools and opportunities for continuous learning and development. Seaman Recruit Julianna Tóth, a sailor from Budapest, Hungary, is a student at NTTC Meridian, learning the necessary skills needed to be a yeoman.

“I will be responsible for various administration tasks and clerical work,” said Tóth. Tóth, a 2023 graduate of Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami, Florida, joined the Navy four months ago. “I joined the Navy for self-improvement and better opportunities in the future, as well as to just try something new that would bring unique experiences,” said Tóth.

She relies upon skills and values similar to those found in Budapest

Tóth relies upon skills and values similar to those found in Budapest to succeed in the military. “I learned that teamwork is a big thing in the Navy,” said Tóth. “It’s important that no matter how you feel towards someone personally, you have to be able to come together as a team and put your issues aside in order to complete your mission, as well as holding each other accountable.”

NTTC Meridian, located at Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi, is committed to developing dedicated and motivated sailors and Marines. Following boot camp, they provide entry-level “A” school training to students in administration and supply ratings. NTTC Meridian is one of the more than 1,640 subordinate learning sites that serve as a part of the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) domain. NETC educates and trains those who serve, providing the tools and opportunities that enable life-long learning, professional and personal growth and development, ensuring fleet readiness and mission accomplishment.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to trained sailors and a strong Navy.

Serving in the navay is being part of a great team

Serving in the Navy means Tóth  is part of a team that is taking on new importance in America’s focus on rebuilding military readiness, strengthening alliances and reforming business practices in support of the National Defense Strategy.

“The Navy is a prominent part of our country’s self-defense,” said Tóth. “With a strong Navy that’s always ready to defend its country, nations are less likely to challenge us.”

Tóth has many opportunities to achieve accomplishments during military service.

“My proudest accomplishment in the Navy so far is graduating from boot camp,” said Tóth. “I know my family back home is proud of me and I hope to achieve a lot within the next six years.”

As Tóth and other sailors continue to perform missions, they take pride in serving their country in the United States Navy.

I immigrated with my family from Budapest to Florida in 2018

“Seeing how proud my family back in Hungary is of me by serving in the Navy makes it all worthwhile,” said Tóth. “To me, serving means being a part of a greater community for a greater purpose in giving back to our country.”

Tóth is grateful to others for helping make a Navy career possible.

“I would like to thank my parents, my uncle, Csaba Funtek, my aunt, Alina Tóth, other family members and my boyfriend for sending me letters and keeping me motivated when I felt like quitting and helping me push through to get to where I am today,” said Tóth.

“I immigrated with my family from Budapest to Florida in 2018,” added Tóth. “Not only am I the first in my family to join the U.S. military but I am also the first woman in my entire family to join any branch of the military.”

  • Hungarian widow of Andy Vajna is the new girlfriend of Arnold Schwarzenegger? – Details in THIS article

Hungarian widow of Andy Vajna is the new girlfriend of Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Hungarian model Arnold Schwarzenegger

Some foreign press outlets wrote these days about a possible new Hollywood love story between Arnold Schwarzenegger and the widow of one of the wealthiest Hungarians, Andy Vajna. Their relationship would be interesting since the Hungarian model, Tímea Vajna, is only 41, while the Austrian Oak is in his 76th year.

According to atv.hu, several foreign media outlets wrote about the romance between Tímea Vajna and Hollywood celebrity Arnold Schwarzenegger. Tímea was the wife of the late Andrew G (Andy) Vajna, a Hungarian-American film producer (Rambo series, Total Recall, Tombstone, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Evita, and Terminator 3), CEO of InterCom Ltd and Government Commissioner in charge of the Hungarian film industry. He died four years ago.

For example, Celebrity Tidbit wrote about the new affair HERE, but they keep talking about Tímea Palácsik, the Hungarian model’s maiden name, which is much less known than her late husband’s.

That comes after the couple has been spotted riding a bike multiple times in California. Allegedly, some paparazzi even took snaps of the two exchanging kisses, and Schwarzenegger kissed her even on the mouth. Of course, that could also be a sign of friendship, Ripost, a Hungarian tabloid, believes.

Fortuneteller’s surprising opinion about the relationship between Timi and Arnold

An insider, who wanted to keep her identity secret, told US Weekly that there is more in their relationship than just friendship, and they would soon announce that they are in love. Gossip has it that the Terminator is no longer together with Heather Milligan.

“Arnold is enjoying his life and dating, but he likes Tímea. They aren’t official yet, but his friends see how he is with her and think they will [be] very soon. They’re taking things slowly but are a very adorable couple, and they are always laughing and giggling”. That is because the Hungarian model keeps Schwarzenegger feeling very young, the insider added. They have been getting along well since they met through Andy Vajna.

But it seems paparazzi and tabloid journalists were wrong in this issue. In some pictures, Hungarian journalists spotted Zoltán, Tímea’s boyfriend, but he is not a celebrity, so nobody recognises him in Great Britain or the United States. For example, in THIS article, he is cycling behind Timi.

A Hungarian fortuneteller said that the friendship of Timi and Arnold is charmatic, which means they were friends in their previous lives. Furthermore, she added that Arnold promised her late husband he would look after his widow. That is why they remained friends and try to spend time with each other.

New York Young Republican Club praises Orbán and government’s ‘civic-Christian values’

new york young republican club

The New York Young Republican Club has hosted an event together with the Foundation for a Civic Hungary, presenting Hungarian government policies as well as the English edition of a book by Áron Hidvéghi about Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The foundation’s head, Ádám Kavecsánszki, told a full house Wednesday local time that Orbán was known the world over, and the crowded event was also a testament to the Hungarian prime minister’s pulling power.

He praised the government’s conservative policies “based on civic-Christian values”, saying it was possible to win an election with values-based policies.

Freedom, he added, must be “fought for every day”, and the Hungarian government did this in accordance with the founding principles of the ruling Fidesz party.

In his speech, Gavin Wax, president of the New York Young Republican Club, thanked Hungary for standing up for Israel and refusing to back a UN General Assembly resolution urging Israel to enact a ceasefire. He told MTI that what American conservatives drew inspiration from Orban and his vision for the future of Hungary and Europe which was centered on families, stopping immigration and protecting sovereignty.

The “Hungarian Wine Queen”: How a small-town girl from Eger turns her dreams into reality in NYC

Citadella Imports Inc. NYC wine

In 2019, Citadella Imports, spearheaded by Hungarian entrepreneur Alexandra Damanis (formerly Fuscsics), emerged onto the wine scene. This ambitious woman, chasing her dreams of living in NYC, made her wildest dream come true by building a flourishing business, bringing a taste of Hungary to the Big Apple despite the myriad of challenges she faced during her journey. This is her captivating story.

The Big Apple

Ever since Alexandra was a little girl, she always dreamed of living in the bustling NYC. It wasn’t until 2015, during a holiday, that her fate took an unexpected turn – she met Charles, the love of her life. Alexandra and Charles stayed in touch after the vacation, and later, they explored vineyards in the Long Island wine region and Eger together. Their shared passion and appreciation towards wine and winemaking blossomed alongside their growing affection for each other. They married and now live together in New Jersey.

The business idea

Alexandra spent two years in various roles and odd jobs, realising that this wasn’t the American dream she envisioned. While preparing a bogrács dinner, the couple was discussing what type of wine to pair it with. Recalling their recent Hungarian holiday, Charles said:

Perhaps, we could find some Bikavér?

After a quick search on the internet, they found a shop 30 minutes away where they sell Bikavér. However, the couple specifically had one of the exceptional bottles they’d tasted in Hungary in mind. As they left the shop disappointedly, Charles turned to Alexandra jokingly:

You should just import the wine yourself.

Inspired, Alexandra transformed this idea into reality, founding Citadella Imports Inc. She poured her diligence and hard work into the venture, finding pride and celebration in her newfound success.

A piece of Hungary in NYC

Alexandra has become a cultural ambassador for Hungary, sharing its rich history and heritage with her customers. She passionately talks about Hungary’s wine scene, the post-communism resurgence in the country’s wine market and the unique characteristics of the country’s volcanic soils. Of course, she greatly misses her family and friends back in Hungary, thus she regularly visits home, using these trips as opportunities to connect with local winemakers.

Putting Hungary on the map?

While Alexandra doesn’t set lofty goals like “putting Hungary on the map,” she focuses on sharing the story of Hungarian wines with open-minded enthusiasts. Recognising the lack of government investment in wine marketing, especially compared to Czech and Austrian counterparts, she remains authentic and humble in her approach.

Successes like featuring Patricus Furmint in the iconic Buddakan restaurant and her natural wines in NYC’s esteemed St. Jardim highlight her journey. Invitations to exclusive events, such as the Orange Glou Fair in Brooklyn, showcase her impact. Handling everything from sales and marketing to compliance and shipping, along with navigating the US government’s FDA registration system and the label approval process for each of her products, Alexandra’s story sets a great example that with passion and hard work, anything is possible. Johnny Depp in Budapest: the Hollywood celebrity posted in Hungarian

Johnny Depp Budapest Hungary

It seems the shooting of his latest film, Modi, is based on the life of Italian avant-garde painter and sculptor, Amedeo Modigliani. Of course, the world-known Hollywood actor worked with a Hungarian crew in Budapest, where he spent several weeks. With his latest gesture, he probably won the hearts of many Hungarians.

Johnny Depp drank too much in Hungary?

And he needs that very much. We wrote HERE that he was on a summer tour with his famous Hollywood Vampires band but cancelled their Budapest concert minutes before it started. The band was smuggled out from their hotel while thousands of people waited for them in the Papp László Budapest Sport Arena in vain. Organisers said they would like to reschedule the event, but because of the tight schedule of Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, that was not an option.

However, the Hungarians aiming to spend the evening with the band did not get their money back after the 60-day deadline for a refund. Therefore, some of them started to write emails. As a result, in some cases, disappointment turned into anger since many paid their ticket in advance.

Therefore, some Hungarians did not understand how Johnny Depp could come back to shoot his film, Modi, in the Hungarian capital. He answered that in an exclusive interview with Népszava, which we wrote about HERE.

Depp said that producers in Hollywood lacked creativity, so he could not make anything great in the United States. Doing so, he had to come to Europe, especially to Hungary, where he worked with a Hungarian crew.

And it seems he was satisfied with the work his crew did. We wrote HERE that it might be hard to work together with the Hollywood legend since he partied too much in the villa they rented for him in Budapest’s 16th district. “Sometimes there is chaos on the set. Johnny Depp might be a very talented and creative man, a world star with a real vision, but the events of the last few years seem to have taken a toll on him, because sometimes it seems like he’s not always on top of things… maybe he parties more than he should”, an insider said. Before, the Hollywood Vampires concert in Budapest was allegedly cancelled because Depp drank too much. But it seems the Hungarian crew was able to cope with all the difficulties during the shooting.

Depp thankful to his Hungarian crew

The actor and singer thanked his crew’s work in an Instagram post published yesterday.

To my dear ‘Modi’ film family, Köszönöm for all your exceptional efforts without which this film could not have been made. Please accept my eternal admiration, appreciation, respect and love, JD. X.

Depp could not enter Budapest restaurant

It seems he won back people’s hearts since there are already more than a million likes on the post (and image) despite being shared only yesterday.

Modi will be about Italian avant-garde painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani. He (Riccardo Scamarcio) hides from the police during WWI in Paris and meets with an art collector portrayed by Al Pacino. Depp and Al Pacino played together in the 1990s in the gangster film Donnie Brasco.

Based on a statement of in2_film, the film’s production company, shooting ended five days ago.
