No more Budapest tour boats but here is the replacement
The scheduled service of the Budapest Transport Company in the Hungarian capital will be discontinued.
The BKV boat will cease to operate
Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The Danube River, which bisects the Hungarian capital, is a great tourist destination, and taking the tour boats of the Budapest Transport Company (BKV) allows you to admire it in all its splendour.
However, BKV’s boats will not be running this year, citing a lack of funds. The project, which was set up in 2013 with EU funding, has been loss-making since its inception.

Other available options
Napi.hu looked at what other options are available after the termination of the BKV boat services. The Swiss and Hungarian state-owned Mahart has launched cruises on the capital’s stretch of the Danube. The stops include VigadĂ³ Square, the Parliament, BatthyĂ¡nyi Square and the National Theatre. An adult day ticket costs HUF 1,500 (EUR 3,98).

ANNOYING.
Another piece of HISTORY of Budapest – eradicated – through a Government FORGETTING that Public Transport – the taxes of citizens USED for PUBLIC Transport NEEDS – just wrongfully MISUSED.
Our Duna – general public TOURISM attraction of the Duna – the History of our PUBLIC Ferry Services – given reason by the GOVERNMENT – not PROFITABLE to operate.
REMEMBER – please ALL Hungarians – that Public Transport modes of TRANSPORT – these ALL are PAID in great part from the TAXES we are “slugged” by this Orban mob.
The operation of Public Services is that they are NOT money making machines – not viewed upon in true functioning DEMOCRATIC Governments – to at the end of a Financial Year – return a PROFIT of OPERATION.
Orban and his Mob, the Mayor of Budapest and his Mob – wrongful and AGAIN the inabilities of this Government and the Budapest Mayor to PRIORITIZE.
SHAMEFUL and displaying AGAIN – the incompetency of decision making by Orban and the Mayor of Budapest.
Hey, Appalled!
At least know what you’re talking about!
The boats were operated by the city and the opposition-led Budapest stopped the operation. The state-owned MAHART rushed to help out Budapest and started again boats on Danube. What the incompetent opposition mayor stopped, the governemnt-led state fixed. You can stop this unintelligent anti-OrbĂ¡n rant you’ll just look plain stupid.

Thank-You for correcting me.
