The car-version of the Budapest-bicycle is coming
Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) would set up a public car-renting service (carsharing) which operates with electric cars, writes Origo.
According to Magyar Idők, BKK works on the plans of a concept similar to Budapest-bicycle based on the commission given by the capital city.
Carsharing offers regular car renting possibilities for pre-registered users, the gist of it is that the users can enjoy the advantages of an own car without the constant cost and commitments of the ownership.
János Sződi, CEO of the pioneer of Hungarian communal automobilism Avalon Car(e) Services Kft. says that carsharing is worth for those living or working in the city centre, who drive less than ten thousands kilometres in a year, and realized that keeping a car in the city centre means much more problems and costs than pleasure.
Further advantage of the service is that there is no need to buy a car, finance it, take out insurance, rent a garage, service it, change the snow/summer tires, refuel, only to reserve it on the internet and use it.
According to János Sződi, for people driving many thousand kilometres a year, owning a car is still better.
