The Hungarian government is having a meeting again. PM Viktor Orbán said that the main goal is to find a solution to the energy crisis and to counteract EU sanctions. The coming national consultation is also on the agenda. More government announcements are expected soon.

At the same time as Orbán’s post, government spokesperson Alexandra Szentkirályi also took to Facebook to explain what the government is currently working on. “The irresponsible decisions of Brussels are causing Europe to pay a sanction surcharge for energy, and this is a burden on European people, families and businesses. The government’s task now is to offset the burden of sanctions and support families and businesses as effectively as possible,” she wrote.
A new national consultation is on the way
Viktor Orbán announced in his pre-agenda speech at Monday’s parliamentary session that a new national consultation on energy sanctions will be launched soon. He said that the programme for the complete renewal of the Hungarian energy system is also a permanent item on the agenda. He added that the development of the road network and the family support programme will also continue, with new instruments being added from December.
