UPC is Hungary’s leading telecommunication company, 600 colleagues work in its headquarters. The company recognized the need of a more dynamic organizational culture because of the changing needs of its customers, azevirodaja.hu wrote.
The company had to create a new office center since the lease of the previous office has expired. They thought that a new and modern working environment would support the development of their corporate culture and it would be a visible sign of the change.
The move could seem to be a win-win situation, because the chosen Haller Garden is a first-class and high-quality office, and it provides ideal working conditions. There were changes as well, like the introduction of open offices, shared desks, agile work etc. UPC launched an internal campaign to inform, involve and educate the colleagues.
According to azervirodaja.hu, the new office is characterized by conscious space organization. Since the leaders work together with the employees there are more, but smaller meeting rooms, shared desk system has been introduced, and there are even digital homes for customers where they can try the new services of UPC.
The humanitarian space and ergonomics mean that every workstation is close to natural light, the decoration represents natural colors, there are environmentally friendly lights, and there are break-out and large dining spaces, bicycle storage, showers and changing rooms.
Before the move, UPC organized votes and building visits to make the new environment likable. The colleagues could share their ideas about what the company should consider. There were educations about the use of the new office equipment and technology. The staff also got a relocation package with a bag, water, pencil case etc, azevirodaja.hu told.
