Thousands of Santa Clauses at the Budapest Santa Run – PHOTOS, VIDEO
Thousands of people dressed as Santa Claus participated in the third annual Santa Run in Budapest on December 4, szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu reports.
Almost 3000 people participated in the annual Santa Run in Budapest on the second Sunday of Advent. According to travelo.hu, in exchange for the entry fee, the runners received a Santa outfit and a beard. The runners started in Sóház Street and arrived in Fővám Square after a 2.3-km-long circle in downtown Budapest.
The Santa Run, as always, involves a charity fundraiser where toys, stationery, and school supplies were collected for children in foster care.
Many other towns in Hungary also organised their own Santa Runs and other Santa-themed fundraiser events. In Nyíregyháza, the local biker club also participated.
