Tokaj Wine Festival 2014 – June 6-9

For all of our readers who find a cold glass of wine to be the greatest way to relax after a long day, we have some good news to share. From June 6, 14 till June 9, 14 Tokaj Kossuth square is taking up the residency for the annual Tokaj Wine Festival. 

There is a unique opportunity to get an amazing insight into the world of the best Hungarian wines. Visitors will become part of a homely atmosphere in the heart of the historical center of Tokaj, overviewing the most spectacular attractions: the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, the City Hall, The Tokaj Museum, surrounded by the authentic Magyar wine cellars.

Tokaj’s beautifully balanced, flavorful wines have conquered the world; and now the region is on the mission to bring the finest of the Hungarian production to the local, home arena. The evolution of wine went beyond just mere drinking, it has become a culture. Aside from the internationally successful trademarks, the Tokaj Wine Festival is partnering up with some local, unique artisanal wine cellars in order to create the most memorable experience for the guests.

The installations in the Kossuth Square will be presenting vast variety of bright wines with notes of highly orchestrated flavors.However, it is noteworthy that apart from the traditional, quintessential Hungarian wines all the visitors will be able to taste gastro-gourmet delights.

The organizers have shown some impressive creativity- every day there will be some exciting programs and shows. In the Cultural Center (former synagogue) people will be able to explore the evolution of the Jewish traditions in the wine heritage of Tokaj, in the outdoor spaces visitors will be able to take part in the charity event “Day of Sports”. During the fitness sessions everyone can participate in Zumba, and Thai box classes. The cultural landscape of the Tokaj Wine Festival is extremely diverse; for its youngest guests there will be numerous interactive games andspectacular theatrical performances in the garden of the Tokaj Museum.
