Turnover on Erzsebet vouchers up above HUF 141bn
Budapest, January 10 (MTI) – Turnover in Erzsebet vouchers was above 141 billion forints (EUR 440m) last year, up from 127.6 billion in 2013 and 83.7 billion forints in 2012, daily Magyar Nemzet said on Saturday citing an official of the Hungarian National Foundation for Recreation.
Head of the foundation’s board Zoltan Guller said the turnover largely depended on tax benefits the state was offering on Erzsebet vouchers. He highlighted that some 8 percent of retail food purchases were paid with the vouchers last year.
Hungary introduced a unified national voucher system in 2012 squeezing out market players such as Sodexo, Le Cheque Dejeuner and Edenred.
