US leak scandal: Hungarian leaders also wiretapped by the United States?

According to newspaper reports, the United States may have wiretapped Hungarian officials in addition to the Ukrainian generals.

The consequences of the leaked US documents are likely to be severe on the battlefield. On top of that, the political repercussions will also be enormous, atv.hu warns.

In addition to Ukrainian generals, Hungarian, Israeli and South Korean officials have been under surveillance by overseas intelligence, including several officials of the Atomic Energy Agency.

This means that the US spies also collected data on the allies, writes hvg.hu based on information from the Economist.

Now it is also possible to find out how these spies gather information. For example, one of the documents, in addition to being top secret, is marked “SI-G”. That means that the content comes from a highly sensitive source, atv.hu explains. This is done by either by planting a bug on a phone or otherwise recording conversations.

However, this allows targets to find out how the US is getting the information.

A few days ago, when the leak scandal saw the light of day, we reported that these Top Secret documents contained information about PM Viktor Orbán and his friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
