Vintner of Year: Eva Dignisz Gal first woman to be named
(MTI) – The Hungarian Academy of Wine presented the Vintner of the Year award to Eva Dignisz Gal at a gala luncheon on Sunday.
Dignisz Gal, who is the first woman to have won the title, thanked her family when accepting the award. She grows grapes with her husband, Csaba Gal, on 70 hectares on Csepel Island, south of Budapest, and ten hectares north of Lake Balaton.
She was picked from five nominees who included Janos Bolyki of Eger, Tamas Borbely of Badacsony, and Tamas Duzsi and Zoltan Heimann both of Szekszard.
