Dávid Vitézy calls recount of invalid votes thorough, justified
The recount of invalid votes cast in the Budapest mayoral election at the June 9 municipal elections was meticulous and justified, Dávid Vitézy, incumbent mayor Gergely Karácsony’s contender, said on Friday evening.

In Sunday’s election, Karácsony garnered 371,466 votes and Dávid Vitézy 371,142. Vitézy appealed against the municipal election office’s results referring to a high number of invalid votes, and the election committee NVB ordered a recount.
The National Election Office on Friday carried out a recount of valid votes that had been erroneously classified as invalid, and scrutinised each vote with more than one mark on the sheet.
The head of NVB announced on Friday evening that the recount had resulted in another 112 valid votes for Karacsony and 395 for Vitézy, with Karacsony winning the election with 41 votes.
Vitézy afterwards thanked the election office for its work and congratulated Karacsony on winning the ballot.
However, in a statement, Vitézy referred to “serious problems around counting votes” which he said “could even call for “a recount of valid votes not yet recounted”.
Vitézy also responded to Karacsony’s calling for a new election in the whole of Budapest despite Friday’s recount turning out in his favour, with the mayor claiming that “the whole process has been infinitely manipulative, full of political misleading, tricks, and wire-tapping.” Vitézy said he was ready to face the challenge.
He noted his appeal against the result of the election in two districts led by the Democratic Coalition, claiming that voters had been deliberately misled in those districts.
Vitézy said that whatever would be the outcome of the legal proceedings still pending, he would accept the final official binding results of the elections once declared.

When you in the CORE of Politics in Hungary, have a Government, that is RIDDLED with a gargantuan number of question marks over it’s HEAD, facts known of it’s lack of creditability, honesty and trust, it’s CRASHED image and place in the European Union – in the Democratic World, the “culture” of the Orban – Fidesz Government, that we have – as citizens over 14 plus years come to know – been witness to, this culture has INFESTED – the process that this article refers centers on.
Interference, manipulation, “palms” greased, promises made, deals made it’s just SMELLS – is in line of what we have come to know, experienced had to live with, over 14 years, of the Orban – Fidesz Government.
Vitezy, whilst accepting defeat, and complimenting the win of Karacsony, and that he would not support another Mayoral Election – could be said, a “Shoot Off” – has to be CAREFUL.
We know the Fidesz Candidate – pulled out at the 11th Hour, knowing SHE had absolutely NO chance of winning.
WE know – when breaking it ALL down, looking at the platform under Fidesz – she ran her campaign, that when she “pulled the pin” it was FORMALLY announced, that Fidesz would support David Vitezy.
This is the UN-BELEAVABLE but it’s FACT and Happened.
Fidesz, in there Platform, what they, if elected to the Mayoral Role of Budapest – would DO – would introduce – would eradicate & change, there platform, the Fidesz Party, it DIFFERED humongousely, from the Platform run by David Vitezy.
In major part, the platform run by the Fidesz Party was FACTUALLY opposite – that OPPOSED challenged, the platform run by David Vitezy.
WHY – say 48 hours before we “hit” the polling booths, we WITNESSED in there respective PLATFORMS in major part, absolute total DIFFERENCES in POLICY on matters – then, when Fidesz “surrenders” not “walking up to the plate” being a CONTENDOR – why then did, the Orban – Fidesz Government and Party, there membership, why did they “throw” there weight behind supporting a David Vitezy victory ?
WHY ???
Whatever the outcome, if we have to vote again so be it, but ANSWER’s through rigourous INVESTIGATION(s) – must be undertaken, to endeavour to FIND or ascertain ANSWERS – why again, in a Political process being what the subject of this artical refers, why again – the SHAMBOLIC Mess ?
Orban – the Fidesz Government, for INDEPENDENCE action(s) of Investigation(s) – as this SHAMBOLIC Mess is, the FACT that we know the Judiciary in Hungary, answers to the Orban – Fidesz Government – to GET answers, that are FACT – not interfered with, manipulated, fabricated nor “veiled” – hidden from Truth & Fact, this as CITIZENS is our PROBLEM.
It revolts me – personally.
SOLIDARITY again SOLIDARITY of the people – the NEED to RIGHT all this CRAP that continues on, being feed and practiced in Hungary, coming out of the Orban – Fidesz Government, and “rooted” in the Membership of the Fidesz Political Party – the DESTRUCTORS of Hungary.
Look at what after 14 plus years the name Orban – the Name Fidesz has DELIVERED to Hungary and it WILL Worsen – WRONGFULLY.
