Vodafone Hungary enhances connectivity with VoWiFi service
In order to improve connectivity and communication, Vodafone Hungary recently made its VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) service available to all customers who own compatible handsets. With the help of this new function, users may access Wi-Fi networks to send SMS and place regular voice conversations, even in places with weak mobile network coverage or when their device are in airplane mode.

According to HVG, iPhones that are upgraded to iOS 17 and have the feature enabled in the Settings Wi-Fi menu can now access this service. Soon, Android smartphones will also be able to join VoWiFi. One of the advantages of VoWiFi is its usefulness both domestically and internationally. Vodafone customers can use this service without any charges as it aligns with their existing tariff plans for traffic and one-time fees. Calls, within Hungary seamlessly switch between the VoLTE/4G and VoWiFi networks ensuring communication when transitioning between Wi-Fi coverage areas. However, international calls will be disconnected when Wi-Fi becomes unavailable, and they will require a redial.

How it works?
It is also worth mentioning that recipients do not need any software or hardware to make VoWiFi work. To use VoLTE and VoWiFi you will only need an internet connection, a handset, a firmware in your device, activated VoLTE and LTE services, a 4G-enabled SIM card and a specific network license. VoWiFi has been automatically enabled for all VoLTE customers by Vodafone Hungary as a convenience to its subscribers, negating the need for further operator adjustments. Users have a clear indicator of their active Wi-Fi calling connection when VoWiFi is on since a Wi-Fi signal is displayed in the status bar of the device when it is. Regardless of their location or device, Vodafone’s VoWiFi service gives its customers greater flexibility and improved connectivity, making staying in touch easier than ever.
