Water summit – Development ministry signs MoU with Global Green Growth Institute
Budapest, November 30 (MTI) – The National Development Ministry signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Budapest during the World Water Summit, the ministry told MTI.
Last autumn, Hungary indicated that it wished to take part in international climate finance initiatives and in implementing the Paris climate agreement in efforts aimed at fighting climate change.
The 27-member Seoul-based institute has set up a cooperation framework in water management and monitoring covering the support of various projects, primarily in the western Balkans.
Frank Rijsbermann, GGGI’s head, said Hungary’s undertaking falls in line with the institute’s main goal of advancing sustainable development.
