The famous New Orleans fast-food brand had been hinting for months about its imminent entry into the local market, but now both the location and timing have been confirmed: the chicken fast-food chain will welcome Hungarian customers during the autumn season.

The exact location and the recruitment of staff were revealed through advertisements run on Popeyes Hungary’s social media channels, which were not accessible to the general public. Fusion Befektetési Zrt., responsible for the domestic network, is currently hiring restaurant employees for the new outlet. This move clearly indicates that preparations for the opening have entered the final stages.

A new milestone for European expansion

The Hungarian launch fits perfectly into the restaurant chain’s dynamic European expansion strategy. In recent years, the brand has successfully established itself in several countries, including Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Romania, France, the Czech Republic, and Italy, Forbes reported.

“The restaurant opening in Budapest this autumn marks the first chapter of Popeyes’ history in Hungary. We are confident that the brand will quickly win the hearts of locals, and soon enthusiasts will be able to enjoy Popeyes across many parts of the country,” said László Sümegi, Managing Director of Fusion-BP Restaurants Ltd., in a previous statement.

What makes this franchise special?

Popeyes was founded in 1972 in Louisiana, USA, and has since grown into one of the largest fast-food chains. The brand’s uniqueness lies in bringing the flavours of Cajun and Creole cuisine to its customers. Alongside their famously spicy, crispy fried chicken and iconic sandwiches, they offer a unique gastronomic experience with a variety of side dishes and sauces.

In the American market, Popeyes is known for competing with McDonald’s, KFC, and other fast-food chains, but its success is largely due to its distinctive flavours and strong brand identity. For Hungarian customers, Popeyes will not just be another fast-food restaurant in the shopping mall’s food court, but a small slice of New Orleans: bold seasoning, authentic recipes, and a completely different dining experience that will enrich the local fast-food scene.
