Wizz Air cancels flights to 2 destinations, aircraft tilts during disembarkation in horrific incident – VIDEO

Due to the escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict in the Middle East following Israel’s air attack and Iran’s retaliation, Wizz Air decided to cancel two flights into the area today. Meanwhile, a Wizz Air-leased aircraft tilted while disembarking passengers in Norway.

According to Index, Wizz Air announced today that they would cancel their flights to Tel-Aviv, Israel, and Amman, Jordan, until 20 June due to the escalating violence in the Middle East following Israel’s attack against Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile manufacturing capacities. They also offered a full refund to the passengers who booked their tickets through Wizz Air’s system. They were informed via email or text message about the change and what they had to do through the Wizz Air mobile app to get the full refund.

Wizz Air’s leased aircraft tilted while passengers disembarked

A Wizz Air-leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft tilted while passengers were disembarking at the international airport of Haugesund in Norway. Wizz Air leased the plane from the Lithuanian GetJet Airlines, which flew from the Polish Gdansk to the Norwegian destination.

According to on-site footage, the aircraft tilted onto its tail section at its designated parking stand at Haugesund Airport, reportedly during the disembarkation of passengers and the unloading of luggage, AIRportal said.

Thankfully, no injuries happened, but the aircraft could not travel back to Poland. Therefore, passengers left with a replacement flight 8 hours later. The aircraft concerned flew to a Lithuanian airport without passengers for a technical inspection.
