Wizz Air extends new service to all routes

Good news for travellers: Wizz Air is soon to make its Wizz Class service – the airline’s so-called business class offering – available on every flight, allowing passengers to opt in. The January trial period delivered encouraging results, with demand far exceeding expectations.

In January, the Hungarian low-cost carrier enabled business-class travel for passengers from six base airports: Budapest, Bucharest, Warsaw, Rome, and London’s Luton and Gatwick. The airline had announced the launch of Wizz Class last October, Airportal wrote.

The service acts as an add-on to Smart or Plus fare bundles, which already include priority boarding and a 10kg cabin bag.

What does Wizz Class offer?

  • A seat in the front row of the aircraft;
  • Extra legroom for passengers;
  • A guaranteed middle seat;
  • Complimentary alcohol and snacks on board.

Chief executive József Váradi noted at a press conference last month that the offering targets a niche segment, with just four such seats available per flight.

The Hungarian budget airline’s single-cabin model will otherwise remain unchanged; Wizz Class is effectively an enhanced service package rather than a distinct onboard class.
