This new route is good news, in addition to the tourists, for the Hungarians working there too. Wizz Air, among the British cities, flies to London and Glasgow from Budapest, but it also has a flight from Debrecen to London.
From the low-cost airlines, Ryanair, EasyJet and Norwegian also fly from Budapest to London. Ryanair has flights to Bristol and Manchester, while Jet2 flies to Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and East Midlands.
After the industrial revolution, Birmingham was called the world’s workshop. To this day, more than a quarter of the UK’s export comes from the area of Birmingham. It is a culturally and ethnically diverse city. About 30% of the population is non-white, 70% has white origins, of which 3.2% of Irish descent.
