A young Hungarian woman, visiting Tapolca from abroad, tried to take a shortcut home from the train station to her grandmother’s house. That’s when the fatal accident occurred.

Protruding wire claims life of young Hungarian woman

According to neighbours, the young woman attempted to climb over an old-style fence but became caught on a protruding wire that tragically sliced through her femoral artery. She managed to crawl for a short distance before collapsing on the grass. Weakening from blood loss, she dialed emergency services.

But that’s when the true tragedy struck: somehow, she gave the wrong address, and paramedics couldn’t find her. According to the National Ambulance Service, first responders searched the area extensively, repeatedly called the number from which the emergency call was made, but received no answer. It’s likely that the young woman lost consciousness shortly after making the call and was unable to respond. It remains unclear how long it took for the ambulance to arrive. “By the time she was eventually found in a secluded back area, it was sadly too late to save her,” reported the ambulance service.
