Katinka Hosszú chosen as the best female swimmer in Europe
According to szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu, Hungarian swimming sensation Katinka Hosszú has been chosen as the best female swimmer in Europe for the 4th time in a row on the annual voting of the European Aquatics Federation (LEN).
In its report LEN writes that returning greats and new names appear among the 2016 LEN Awards’ winners. Adam Peaty (GBR) and Katinka Hosszú (HUN) are heading the list receiving the most votes among the swimmers. Peaty is honoured for the first time while this was Hosszú’s fourth straight win in the women’s field.
The federation highlights that the 27-year-old athlete started the 2016 season with four gold medals at the London European Championships, and came home with three gold and one silver medals from the Rio Olympic Games, where she also set a new world record in 400 m medley. Then, she went on by winning seven gold medals at the Windsor Short Track World Championships. Her achievements are incontestable 🙂
