Hungarian Paralympic runner Bernadett Biacsi becomes world champion in London

The Hungarian Paralympic runner received a gold medal on the 800 meters’ track. Her twin sister did not leave the contest with empty hands, either: she received a bronze medal on the 1500 meters’ distance, according to Szeretelekmagyarorszag.hu.

The famous Biacsi twins, who have already participated in two Paralympics, in London and in Rio before, brought the greatest success in the 2017 world championship of athletics in London.

Bernadett ran the 800 meters track on the closing day of the competition, 23rd July, on Sunday.

The Paralympic runner crossed the finish line with a time of 2.20.51, which did not only mean winning the race, but also beating the former world record. Ilona Biacsi also brought triumph for Hungary with her third place on the 1500 meters’ track.

“Berni ran an incredibly thrilling race in front of an almost full house stadium; moreover, she won by a new world record! It is also worth seeing how the broadcasting and the fan support is very professional in the UK, it is wonderful that Bernadett celebrated her victory with the Hungarian tricolor! We congratulate her and thank her so much!”, as it is written on the Facebook page of the Hungarian Paralympic Team.
