Budapest, April 5 (MTI) – The Socialist opposition has criticised the government for handing out Easter bonuses to government clerks in appreciation of last year’s administrative reforms.
The payment of these bonuses costing a total of 700 million forints (EUR 2.3m) is “hypocritical”, Ildiko Bango Borbely told a press conference on Sunday. She said some of the administrative reforms had only just started and many people were not receiving benefits on time.
The daily Nepszabadsag said earlier in the week that it had obtained a letter which states that government clerks were given vouchers worth 25,000 forints each for the Easter holidays.
