Budapest (MTI) – Hundreds of fans greeted the members of men’s hockey team on Sunday, who got at the forefront of the Division I/A World Cup in Poland on Saturday.
Zoltan Kovacs, general secretary of the association told MTI that 600-700 fans were waiting for the national team in the City Park Ice Rink, where 3 members of the team qualified in 2008 greeted the participants.
The players were called to the stage one by one after the carrying bus arrived. When all of them were on the podium – three players and the professional crew remained in Krakow – the final moments of the match won against the Poles by 2-1 were showed, which received huge cheers by the audience.
The Hungarians came off second best behind the Kazakhs and they qualified for world’s elite.
