Budapest listed among the best European destinations

Would you have thought that Budapest is also on the list of the best European destinations? In fact, this is the case, and if it would not be an incredible achievement on its own, it preceded such outstanding European capitals as Paris, Vienna or London, reports Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu. 20 touristic destinations competed for the title of Best European Destination 2018 as we have previously reported. The competition has been organised for 10 years by the organisation of European Best Destinations which has been in collaboration with tourist offices.

As Europeanbestdestinations.com reports, during the three-week-long online voting, individuals could vote for their absolute favourite holiday spots and based on results, the title was judged to Wroclaw, Poland, which is also referred to as the “Polish Venice”. The winner obtained altogether 41,148 votes preceding Bilbao (Spain) at the 2nd place and Colmar (France) at the 3rd place.

Budapest was chosen the 8th best destination in Europe with 17,745 votes.

As the evaluation report of the organisation points out, Budapest is the ideal destination for couples, friends and the lovers of history, culture, museums and nightlife. The splendid surrounding including the Buda Castle, the Parliament, the Margaret Island and the endless spas will undoubtedly enchant every visitor.

The best destinations get promotion all year round on the website of European Best Destinations, in the international press and on social websites and travel portals, too. Based on estimations, the number of tourists expected to the TOP 10 holiday spots is going to increase thanks to the campaign of the organisation throughout the year significantly. Furthermore, the fact that these cities possess the title of being among the TOP 10 European destinations also means a prestige to them.
