John Malkovich’s legendary photo series comes to Budapest
According to hvg.hu, the Budapest Photo Festival will be launched with a star exhibition in the Hall of Art. The main character is John Malkovich, whose legendary photo series finally comes to Budapest.
The world-famous collaboration of American photographer Sandro Miller and actor John Malkovich titled Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich – Homage to Photographic Masters opens on the 28th of February in the Hall of Art.
The photographer came up with the idea of recreating historic photographs that shaped his career in 2013. He contacted Malkovich, who instantly said yes.
“John is the most brilliant, prolific person I know. His genius is unparalleled. I can suggest a mood or an idea and within moments, he literally morphs into the character right in front of my eyes.”
Based on the website of the Hall of Art, pieces include Irving Penn’s photograph of Truman Capote in a corner; Bert Stern’s photos of Marilyn Monroe; Dorothea Lange’s image of a migrant mother; Annie Leibovitz’s iconic image of John Lennon and Yoko Ono etc.
If you want to see how the actor pays respect to historic figures like Albert Einstein, Che Guevara and Andy Warhol, make sure to visit the Budapest Photo Festival!
