According to origo.hu, first audit of the National Tax Office (NAV) on Uber drivers has ended, and all of them were irregular – Ministry of National Economy (NGM) said.
In the context of the first audit of Uber, which was requested by the head of the Ministry, NAY inspectors made test purchases, they used the services of Uber drivers. Only irregularities were recorded in the reports. Despite they were doing business, none of them had a tax number and none of the drivers gave a bill ever. In the cars, there were no taximeters, invoices or receipts. The tax inspectors also found that the drives neither had a taxi permit nor an aptitude test.
NAV can impose even a HUF 200 thousand fine on the failed drivers. These procedures are currently ongoing. However, NAV doesn’t stop here: every Uber driver can expect additional monitoring, the Ministry said. The Ministry of Economy aims that the company operating Uber-network adhere to the rules. To this end, the Ministry will take actions with all possible means.
