More than 600,000 tourists visited the Hungarian Parliament last year
MTI and Index.hu report that the Hungarian Parliament had a record-breaking number of visitors in 2017. More than 600,000 people wanted to see the interiors of the famous sight in Budapest. The Parliament has never had this many visitors before.
Interesting statistics
647,000 people visited the Hungarian Parliament in 2017, which is 11% more than in the year before.
20.5% of the visitors were Hungarian, and 79.5% of them were foreigners. 30.6% came from outside of the European Union. Interestingly, in the first four months of 2018, more than 201,000 people visited the Parliament which is 18% more than in the first four months of 2017.
Tourists generated a revenue of HUF 1,188,000,000 just by visiting the most popular tourist attraction in the Hungarian capital.

- Hungarian student/senior: HUF 1300
- Hungarian adult: HUF 2400
- EU members: HUF 3100
- Non-EU members: HUF 6000

Fun facts about the Hungarian Parliament
The Hungarian Parliament has been recently featured among the top 10 most beautiful buildings in the world on TripAdvisor’s list. Unfortunately, some places cannot be visited within the building, not even if you paid the entrance fee, such as the studies of the President, the Prime Minister and the Presiding Officer. The building has a revolutionary heating, air-conditioning and ventilation system.
