Government to launch new electric vehicle subsidy scheme in October
Hungary’s government will wind up a subsidy programme for the purchase of electric vehicles at the end of August, but replace it with another, this one with simplified conditions, in October, the Innovation and Technology Ministry said on Tuesday.
The 2 billion forint (EUR 6.2m) funding allocation for the current programme will be topped up with 300 million forints, the ministry said.
Legal and natural persons may apply for up to 1.5 million forints in funding per vehicle under the programme.
Since the programme’s launch in 2016, the subsidies have supported the purchase of more than 1,000 EVs.
The conditions for the new subsidy programme will soon be posted on the website of e-Mobi Nonprofit: www.e-mobi.hu
