MORE NEW FLIGHTS ANNOUNCED FROM HUNGARY 

It was announced in May 2018 that Wizz Air would launch seven new flights from Debrecen Airport. Four flights launched last December already, but there are three other destinations that will be available only from the spring of 2019. Check out the new destinations HERE.

TOURISM INDUSTRY OPPOSED TO MOVING LOW-FARE FLIGHTS OUT OF CAPITAL 

Moving low-fare flights from Liszt Ferenc International to an alternative airport outside of the capital would be a “tactical error” and does not have the support of the tourism industry, the chairman of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (MSZESZ) said in Friday’s issue of daily Magyar Nemzet. DILLER SCOFIDIO + RENFRO TO DESIGN HUNGARIAN MUSEUM OF TRANSPORT 

The US architecture firm of Diller Scofidio + Renfro has won an international tender to design the new Hungarian Museum of Transport in Budapest. Read more HERE.

ORBÁN REVEALS PLAN TO BOOST HUNGARIAN COMPANIES’ INVESTMENTS ABROAD

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán asked National Bank of Hungary (NBH) governor György Matolcsy to draft a programme that will boost Hungarian companies’ investments abroad. “Hungarian companies should earn at least as much money abroad as foreign companies earn in Hungary,” he said. Read more HERE.
