Our capital city, Budapest offers not only great tourist destinations, spas and restaurants but some of the best luxury hotels too. The world’s most prestigious tourism site, the Forbes Travel Guide made lists of the world’s best hotels, restaurants, spas and tourist destinations. This year, seven Hungarian hotels in Budapest got on the list of the world’s best luxury hotels.
Ujszo.com has reported that 7 luxury hotels were named among the best luxury hotels of the world, based on Forbes Travel Guide‘s article.
Forbes’s supervisors go around hotels all year in incognito while evaluating them based on 900 (!) criteria. Supervisors have been visiting 1700 hotels, restaurants and spas each year since the last couple of decades. 75 per cent of these criteria are about services; the rest of the aspects are about the building’s conditions and location.

Corinthia Hotel Budapest:
In 2014’s Traveler’s Choice awards Corinthia Hotel Budapest won in Luxury, Top Hotels and Romance category. Being located in Budapest’s city centre on the Grand Boulevard and having a swimming pool, sauna, fitness room and jacuzzi, it is considered one of the favourite luxury hotels of the city.

Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest
The Gresha Palace built by British Gresham Life Assurance Company in 1906 at Széchenyi István tér, just opposite Széchenyi Chain Bridge. The luxury hotel took its new name ‘Four Seasons’ in 2004. Not only is its location perfect, but the rooms and services are also royal-quality.

InterContinental Budapest
In the year 1981 the building had the name ‘Forum Hotel’ and joined InterContinental British hospitality company in 1997. According to InterContinental’s Hungarian website, celebrities like George Bush, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Dalai Lama, Colin Powell, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Michael Schumacher were put up in Budapest’s InterContinental hotel.

Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
Kempinski Hotel is located at Erzsébet tér 7-8, only a few minutes walk away from Vörösmarty Square, Deák Ferenc Square and Budapest’s favourite pedestrian street: Váci Street. The hotel has bistros, restaurants, spa and fitness services.

New York Palace
This luxurious hotel owns one of the most beautiful cafés in the whole world, it is a must to visit at least once in a lifetime. New York Palace is the second hotel on this list that is located along the Grand Boulevard.

The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest
Kempinski Hotel and The Ritz-Carlton hotels are literally neighbouring each other at Erzsébet Square. The hotel opened as Ritz-Carlton only in 201’s autumn, before that, the building took place for Le Méridien hotel. During the second World War, the building was damaged by bombing. Interestingly, after its renconstruction in the 50’s, the building wa serving as Budapest Police Headquarters up until 1997.

Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge
This hotel owns 357 rooms, some of which has an incredibly beautiful panorama on river Danube and on Buda Castle. Sofitel’s location is without a doubt excellent. It is easy to bump into casinos, bars, cafés or pubs. The hotel is the perfect place for those who would like to walk around Budapest city centre’s neighbourhood. Parliament Building and Vörösmarty Square are both within 10-15 minutes of walk.
