Budapest, October 20 (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Tuesday called on ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine to vote for Hungarian lists in Ukraine’s local elections set for this weekend.
It is important that Hungarians are represented in Ukraine’s local governments in proportion to the size of their community, Orban said after talks with Laszlo Brenzovics, head of ethnic Hungarian party KMKSZ.
Ukraine is in a state of transition, and each election could have significant impact, Orban said. He also encouraged Ukraine Hungarians living in Hungary to cast their ballot in the upcoming election.
