Hungary needs ‘strong, modern’ military, says defence minister
Hungary is in need of a modern army capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century and guaranteeing the country’s security, the defence minister said on Thursday.
Outlining Hungary’s military development scheme dubbed ZrÃnyi 2026 in Szolnok, in central Hungary, Tibor BenkÅ‘ said the country’s armed forces also needed to play an active role in the transatlantic alliance.
BenkÅ‘ warned of the changing global security environment and the emergence of new threats, underlining the strategic importance of Hungary’s military reform.
