Hungarian parliament to vote on chief prosecutor, Handó’s Constitutional Court membership

The national assembly has votes on its Monday agenda concerning proposals to extend Chief Prosecutor Péter Polt’s mandate for another nine years as well as to appoint Tünde Handó a member of the Constitutional Court.

The first day of parliament’s next session will start at 1pm on Monday.

Polt has been nominated by President János Áder to continue in his post for another term. Hando, the incumbent head of the National Judicial Office, could take the seat of constitutional judge István Stumpf, who is set to retire.

Tuesday’s agenda will include discussion of proposals concerning health care, agriculture, and vocational training.

On Wednesday, the assembly will discuss last year’s reports of the State Audit Office and national media authority NMHH, as well as the authority’s budget for next year.
